ARinfuse project launched its 4th meeting and 3rd multiplier event in Kaiserslautern, Germany February 13, 2020. In front of an audience of 15 engineers, IT experts and utility management professionals, the ERASMUS+ ARinfuse project partners presented innovative approaches and methods to bridge Augmented Reality technology with infrastructure management tools.
After the internal project meeting hosted at the 3rd floor of the impressive building of the Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). Konstantinos Smagas of GeoImaging, coordinator of the project, opened the session introducing the project to the audience. He was then followed by Alain Pagani of DFKI who presented state of the art Augmented Reality use cases while Anders Östman from our Swedish partner Novogit analysed use cases of AR in utilities management. Finally, Elena Valari of GeoImaging demonstrated the software tools of the project generating on real time an augmentation of underground grid water infrastructure.
During the demonstration sessions that followed, all participants had the opportunity to experience first hand AR and VR applications, tools and installations and obtain a better idea on the wide range of possibilities such technologies can offer.
The ARinfuse consortium will meet again from 9 to 11 of June 2020 in Gent, Belgium where the first training event of the project will be hosted.
