The ARinfuse ERASMUS+ project has reached the end of a challenging but exciting journey.Thank you for teaming with us! During the last 27 months the project partners devised a comprehensive and easy to follow training program for students, managers and technicians focusing on the use of augmented reality & geospatial technologies within the utilities sector. The material has been designed to respond to real life scenarios when it comes to managing underground assets with the use of location-based services and augmented reality (AR). The ARinfuse ERASMUS+ project partners from Cyprus, GeoImaging Ltd, Cyprus University of Technology and the Sewerage Board of Nicosia are happy to announce the end of the training period started after the end of online event “Exploiting the potential of Augmented Reality & Geospatial Technologies within the utilities sector”. The second training event of the ARinfuse project was concluded successfully on 3 December 2020. Being organised by the GISIG (Geographical Information Systems International Group) and AMFM GIS Italia in Genova, Italy our event addressed students and professionals in the utility sector that are planning to use AR technology in practical applications. In total 40 participants registered for the event spanning from the entire spectrum of engineering science, grid, utilities management and public administration, while 20 of them participated for the entire duration of the event at all times. Our project conducted successfully the first of a series of training seminars aiming to provide holistic educational modules on how to use augmented reality and geospatial technologies for utilities management. The event hosted online by the Flanders Environment Agency (VMM) from Aalst in Belgium, was attended by more than 25 local stakeholders who had the opportunity to learn about the use of AR in utilities management, but most importantly to gain access to the ARinfuse training platform and training tool. ARinfuse project coordinator, Mr. Konstantinos Smagas of GeoImaging joined the 42 participants from 16 different countries who participated at transnational seminar Innovation in Teaching and Learning through Erasmus+ in Dublin. The workshop who took place between 19 and 21 February 2020, was hosted by Leargas and ERASMUS+ programme. The participants had the opportunity to discover benefits and challenges of technology-enhanced and inclusive learning and how Erasmus+ Projects might address these issues in the future. Through the interactivre workshops, participants came to know innovative tools and virtual learning platforms, new methodos, such as the Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) and serious games, as well as engaging into team work and leadership games. ARinfuse project launched its 4th meeting and 3rd multiplier event in Kaiserslautern, Germany February 13, 2020.
